What is your full name? Paul Hemmings.
Which parish and town are you originally from? Highgate.
How many siblings do you have? I am third of three children.

Share a little about parental back ground Both parents were Christians. My father (now deceased) was a deacon in the church. My mother is still a member of the church. They were both disciplinarians.
What is your marital status? Married.
What is the name of your spouse, if any? Georgia Angella Hemmings.
How long have you been married? What year did you get married? Since December 18, 2004.
How many children do you have, if any? Two.
Educational background Which high school(s) did you attend? St. Mary high school.
Which college or university did you attend and what studies did you pursue there? The Jamaica Theological Seminary. I pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology with a minor in pastoral studies.
Service at JTS What is your role at the Jamaica theological seminary (JTS)? I have a part-time role as student development officer with reposibility for chaple & coordinator for the evening school certificate program.
How many years have you been working at JTS? Three years.
Hobbies and ministry What do you like to do in your spare time? Read, play football, swim, travel, hang out with people and enjoy a good laugh.
What other roles do you play outside of JTS? (Are there any ministries that you operate?) Northeastern Missionary Conference (NEMCO) camp ministry and mentoring young men.
How long have you been a Christian? What year did you get saved? Since 1997.
What church are you affiliated with? Christian brethren.
What position/responsibility do you hold/have at your church? Pastor/spiritual director.
What is your passion, burden or that thing which makes you ‘weep’? Shallow Christians who have no zeal or zest for their faith.
What is the vision that god has laid on your heart? Bring people in an understanding and appreciation of their Christian faith so they can live purposefully.
What special works (books, studies, etc.) Have you produced and/or currently working on? Presently doing a master’s degree.
What is, if any, your guiding philosophy/ principle in life? The fulfillment of life is to find its divine purpose and live in it.
What is your perspective on the present Christian church in Jamaica? It has missed the mark, is just about saving face and its image and trying to play it safe. Need to get involved in Christ way of redeeming people. |
